Rainfall

The following railway stations covered by this history were required to send a telegram to Spencer Street at 9 a.m. each day following rain:

Woomelang

Obtain information from a local source e.g. Post Office

Meringur

Obtain information from a local source e.g. Post Office

Merrinee

Obtain information from a local source e.g. Post Office

Mildura

Obtain information from a local source e.g. Post Office

Murrayville

Equipped with a rain gauge. Also required to send a monthly report to the Meteorological office.

Ouyen

Obtain information from a local source e.g. Post Office

Speed

Equipped with a rain gauge

Underbool

Equipped with a rain gauge. Also required to send a monthly report to the Meteorological office.

A total of 147 stations throughout Victoria were required to report rainfall in 1932

.

In 1946 the Director - Meteorological Services requested the Victorian Railways Commissioners to display monthly rainfall maps and annual rainfall reports at selected stations including Underbool and Mildura.
