Departmental Residences

Information has been obtained from Victorian Railways records relating to the location and fate of some of the many departmental residences houses that were built adjacent to railway stations along the lines covered in this history. These houses were mainly provided for married employees. This is a far from incomplete record and does not include the numerous portable huts that were located at stations for accommodating single men.
