Danyo was opened for goods traffic during construction of the line.

With a distance from Melbourne about the same as Mildura, Danyo was officially opened with a 150 foot long passenger platform, most likely with a 17 x 8 foot 6 inches shelter. There was also a goods loop siding with a 50 x 16 foot goods platform. A 10 ton private weighbridge was located in the goods yard. Sheep yards were also provided.

A shed was constructed at some time in the 1970's for grain storage but was not part of the GEB system.

On 13-7-1970, the Staff locking of the main line points was replaced with CCW levers, hand locking bars and padlocks. Scotch Blocks were provided in the Siding in lieu of Catch Points.

A special train for Pinnaroo passes through Danyo station on 19-11-1977, nine years after passenger regular services were withdrawn. The earthworks from the former loop siding can be discerned in the left foreground. Danyo had closed to all traffic on 4-4-1977. Photo: Bruce McLean

Passenger traffic prior to withdrawal of passenger services on 1-11-1968 was always low and inwards and outwards freight consistently poor compared with neighboring stations Cowangie and Murrayville and was closed to all traffic on 4-4-1977.
